#4 by Justin on 8/1/08 9:09AM #3, in relation to this, when I set up my server, I was originally going to run Samba (SMB) but found it to be too slow over wireless (SMB is a very chatty protocol). This might have been related to trying to go from a Mac (UNIX-based) to FreeBSD instead of just Winblows to Winblows. In any event, I ended up having to run NFS instead (which has the option of running over TCP or UDP). Also, once I turned off server-side locking (I'm the only user anyway), it really sped it up. So that's what I've got now, NFS over TCP with client-side locking.
